2018 Design Trends

Hey babes! Happy 2018! I love the beginning of a new year. It's a time to set new goals, start fresh with a clean slate... and best of all... new design trends!! Whether you are doing a huge remodel or wanting to know the next "it" color to incorporate into your decor, here's what you need to know!

1. Matte Black Finishes

This one I'm so excited about. I've been seeing it pop-up over the past year, but it will be here with a bang in 2018! Think matte black light fixtures, tile finishes, and plumbing fixtures. This will be replacing the satin brass that once took over bathrooms and kitchens, and be a nice refreshing contrast to make a statement making "pop" in your space.

There is a lot to consider when selecting stone tile and our staff has the experience and knowledge to help. Come to one of our three tile showrooms!

2. Modern lines with warm wood tones

Lines in design have been slowly getting more crisp and clean, but instead of a painted finish to pair it with you'll start to see wood grains to warm up the vibe and add texture and depth. You'll see this in furniture pieces as well as in kitchen cabinets.

3. "Leggy" Islands that look like tables

Instead of having a big, bulky kitchen island, you'll start to see kitchen islands take on a more tailored shape with leg details and open shelving. Some would even say the kitchen table is going to replace the kitchen island, and make it a more casual "eat-in" space.

WOW love this feel : beams; lights; custom table? orienteer island (but I like the black benches

4. Concrete Accents

If you're looking for a fresh, new material to incorporate into your home... concrete is going for the win. I personally LOVE concrete and the maintenance is next to nothing. You'll start to see it in furniture, decor pieces, flooring, countertops and fireplace surrounds. It gives a modern feel and keeps it warm and edgy.

5. Mixing... everything

You'll see a lot more of a "casual" vibe in 2018 interiors, which means a lot more goes! So mix different metals, textures, sheens, and make it look lived in and intentional.

Custom vanity ✔️ scalloped wall tiles ✔️ custom mirror ✔️ porcelain wood floors ✔️ mixed metals ✔️ black and white marble accessories ✔️ adding an entire 3rd floor to make this happen ✔️ fresh, chic, spa vibes ✔️ . . . #alibuddinteriors #interiordesign #masterbathstyle #bespoke #mixedmetals #mixedmaterials #detailsdetails @stephanibuchmanphoto

6. Rich Colors

Bold colored sofas, rich colors paired with neutrals to break up the space and give it personality. I'm seeing a lot of mustards and camel colors. Pantone's Color of the Year is Ultra Violet, which is SUPER bold. If this is too bold for you, I would recommend doing a dirty pink which is becoming a neutral in 2018.
We kept the color scheme monochromatic, a mix of naturals with fresh accents by pulling in shades of gray, cream and taupe. #projectshadycanyon #leatherandhide @tessaneustadt
