Move on over Artwork.. Plants are for hanging too

You have the most beautiful piece of furniture, and a head-turning piece of art paired with the perfect lighting fixture. But your room is still missing something...somehow it just doesn't look complete.

Every single room needs the finishing touch, and that finishing touch is GREENERY! It's every designers secret on how to make a room look layered, cozy, and fresh all at the same time. We live in such a technologically saturated world, that we crave natural and organic materials in our surroundings. We gravitate towards things that are living, and need texture and life to complete a room.

There are a lot of fun ways to incorporate greenery into your space, especially with how diverse of plants you can select from. My favorite are the hanging planters that are starting to pop up everywhere. This is the great way to still add in the greenery without taking up table space, or floor space. It also draws the eye upward to the ceiling to create a cozier but larger feel.

In this room, the hanging planter is the perfect accessory to fill that empty space that would otherwise have been left alone or over accessorized and competed with the other wall art. Keep it simple.
Perfect way to fill the space above kitchen sinks or in front of windows.
If you want to keep your room more visually open, you can opt for clear planters that really showcase any succulents that you may fall in love with.
Now that you know how to use them.. here are some of my favorites that I've had my eye on. I really like mixing finishes together, and so I am looking for a metal planter to go with my "organic" succulent. Its my favorite design style when you can accomplish  mixing two worlds into one.

Red and Green are opposites on the color wheel, making them complimentary colors. This is why I'm LOVING this copper planter with the green succulent. You can find it at Dot&Bo for $129
For a more natural approach, you can find this one at West Elm for $75
Also loving this Brass one from West Elm for $29-$39 depending on what size you want.
Once you have your planter, now begins the hunt for your plants! Your local plant nursery will have some good options for live plants, or if you have a black thumb like me but always want your plants to look great... Ikea has some great artificial plant options you can find here.

Share your favorite way to incorporate greenery in your home. And happy planting!
