HIGH POINT MARKET REVEAL | DESIGN TRENDS 2016

Every spring High Point market showcases all of the new design trends to watch for and incorporate into your home for 2016. We've done a round-up of the design trends that we liked from this year's roll-out that are super fun and fresh for your home:

GREEN IS THE NEW BLACK

This year you will start to see green popping up as the new dark accent color. Think emeralds, forest greens, and olive colors. Instead of using black as the neutral dark accent, you'll start seeing green used as the way to incorporate a fun way to keep a space moody. Try a dark green painted piece of furniture, (I am all about dark green consoles) And if you're really into the color, dark green base cabinets are a must this year as well.

ANIMAL INSTINCT

Animal textures and patterns are here to stay, making their mark on must-have casegoods. Give your everyday coffee tables, hutches, and side tables more pizzazz by adding texture and depth with a subtle pattern. My favorites are these Shagreen pieces that add that finishing layer in the space:

SCALLOPED EDGES

Every year there is a new pattern that hits the design world, and this year's pattern is the scallop. Soften your design style by adding scalloped edges, and interest to your pattern. You can incorporate it everywhere from furniture textiles to your tile backsplash.

RETURN OF RATTAN

I have already seen this design trend in full swing, and am loving the incorporation of rattan in indoor spaces. It's the perfect way to fresh your design style, and add a more casual vibe to any space. Try some new rattan side chairs, and mixing in smaller accent pieces in your decor.

CRYSTALLINE FORMS

Embrace the new shape that is taking over furniture, artwork, and decor. Crystalline shapes are a fun, unique way to give a space a more feminine and edgy flair. Think asymmetrical, angular, and interesting. This coffee table is my pick for this year because it gives a spin on the classic gold and marble coffee table.
